1.Early – What kind of idiot books his flight so that he has to leave his house at 5:30 in the morning? That’s right, someone like me. On top of that, thanks to a family trait (on both sides) I have to be wherever I need to be early. Very early. So early that I have the time to sit back and write a short blog.
I know that you are supposed to be at the airport 2 hours ahead of schedule, but the traffic was light, security was quick, and now I am so early that another plane at my terminal has yet to leave to make room for mine…
On the plus side, I am not going to miss my flight.
2. Trip Preparation – I have been planning for this trip for weeks. Looking forward to it for months. And I still cannot believe that it is time to pack up and go. I admit, I am a little stressed, and of course I feel like I forgot something, but I believe I am fully ready to go.
If I forgot anything, I can buy it or I don’t need it. I mean, I cannot buy it once the boat leaves, which means I probably will not even know I am missing something till it’s too late, but I should be able to survive without it. Most important things, the prescription goggles, the swim trunks, and the underwater camera are in the carry on. Everything else is currently in the hands of the airport staff.
3. My Mom – The down side to me taking trips like this is that someone has to cat sit for me. Loki, and the two other guests, can be left alone for short periods of time, but when you push a week away, someone needs to look after them.
My mom uses my vacations as an excuse to take a mini-vacation of her own. I have no idea what she does. I don’t know her plans. For all I know, she throws a week worth of parties.
And since she is watching the house for me, I am ok with that.
So, since this will probably be my last post for about a week, I temporarily sign off.
