Recently it made news that Kate Mulgrew (of Star Trek Voyager fame) is narrating a documentary that declares the sun revolves around the earth. I have no idea how this happened, but Kate Mulgrew says that she was tricked into making that film. And even worse, upon researching the film more, I have found that Dr. Michio Kaku, a man I look up to, also appears in this documentary. I am now very doubtful about the quality of this movie, and I will not even list its name. It doesn’t deserve the credit.
According to an article I have read, written by Lawrence Krauss, another physicist who is “interviewed” in the documentary, there may be some shenanigans going on. This other physicist doesn’t even remember being interviewed for this documentary. This tells me that they were either interviewed under a different premise, or that the director and producer used clips of other interviews in order to get these smart men to say what he wanted them to say. It is amazing what a good editor can accomplish.
In the age we live in, I have a hard time believing that people still believe that the sun revolves around the earth. However, some people still believe that the earth is flat, that evolution is a myth, and that the moon landing is a lie. With all of that, I am no longer surprised; it is very possible that people believe that the earth is the center of the universe.
It should also be stated that the individual who produced this has also come out as saying that the holocaust is a myth. Now, this individual has every right to express his views. It is his right to make himself look like an ass. And a part of me actually wants to view this film, but I do not want to give this guy the satisfaction of having one more view.
Now, that being said, if I was offered enough money, I would have narrated this documentary. I would never speak in favor of the work, but I could easily narrate it. I really should thank this producer, at least he made me realize that I am not the dumbest person on earth, he has that position all to himself.
